That box of tapes
isn't getting any younger.
VHS degrades a little more every year. I transfer your tapes, slides, and photos to USB right here in Carroll County. Hand them to me in the morning, watch them on your TV that night.
Book a drop-offThree steps. That's it.
Bring your tapes
I'm in a different town each morning. Find your closest spot, hand me the bag. Takes two minutes, no appointment needed.
I transfer them
Everything stays right here in the county. I do it myself—no warehouse, no strangers, no assembly line.
Pick them up
You get your originals back plus a USB you can plug into any TV or computer. As fast as the same evening.
Where to find me
Same spot, same day, every week. Pick whatever's closest.
You've probably looked into the mail-in services.
They want you to ship your only copy across the country
These are irreplaceable. Grandma's 80th birthday, the kids' first steps, Christmas 1993. There's one copy. Putting it in a FedEx box feels wrong because it is wrong.
Then you wait 4-6 weeks and wonder
Where's my stuff? Who's handling it? Are they watching my family's home movies in a warehouse? With me, you get them back yourself—as soon as the same evening. From the same person you handed them to.
Then the bill has extras you didn't expect
Cloud subscription. Enhancement fee. Shipping both ways. The "$9 per tape" in the ad turns into $35. My price is what you see below. USB drive included. No account to cancel later.

Hi, I'm Stephen.
I grew up in Carroll County and went to Carroll Community College. After years in tech, I kept running into the same problem: people with boxes of irreplaceable family tapes who didn't trust shipping them across the country to strangers.
So I built Rewound. When you hand me your tapes at the Westminster pickup, I'm the one who digitizes them. When you pick them up the following week, you're getting them back from the same person. No warehouse. No assembly line. Just a neighbor with the right equipment and the time to do it right.
Your memories never leave Carroll County.
From people who brought their tapes in
"I'd been putting this off for ten years. Dropped off six tapes on Tuesday, picked them up the following week. Watched my daughter's first birthday that night. She's 24 now."
— Barb S., Westminster
"After Mom passed, I couldn't bring myself to mail her tapes anywhere. Having someone local, someone I could look in the eye—that mattered."
— Mike K., Taneytown
"Found a box of my parents' slides from the 1960s in the attic. Stephen had them scanned and on a USB within a week. My kids had never seen photos of their great-grandparents that young."
— Janet W., Eldersburg
"My father recorded every Christmas from 1985 to 2002. Seventeen tapes. I figured it would cost a fortune and take forever. Stephen had them all back to me in two weeks for less than I expected."
— Tom H., Hanover
"I tried one of those mail-in places once. Took two months and they lost a tape. Never again. This was a week, everything accounted for, and I met the guy doing the work."
— Donna P., Littlestown
"We had 200 slides from my grandparents' trip to Europe in 1962. I thought they were gone forever. Now my whole family has copies."
— Rich N., Hampstead
"Brought in a box of Hi8 tapes I hadn't watched in 20 years. Forgot how much was on there. My kids losing their minds at the playground, the dog we had before they were born. Worth every penny."
— Carol F., Manchester
"Same-day turnaround. I dropped off two tapes at 8 AM for my mom's 80th birthday party that evening. We watched them together that night. She cried. I cried. Everyone cried."
— Greg L., Sykesville
Questions you probably have
What if a tape is damaged or won't play?
I'll text you a photo and let you decide. If I can't transfer it, you don't pay for that tape. I won't throw anything away without asking.
What's actually on the USB drive?
MP4 video files, one per tape. Named clearly so you can find them. Plug it into your TV's USB port, a laptop, anything. No special software needed.
I don't know how many tapes I have or what format they are
Bring what you've got. I'll count them, identify them, and give you an exact price before you leave anything with me. No surprises.
What if I need to change my count or cancel?
Show up with more tapes? I'll adjust the price on the spot. Need to cancel? Just let me know. No penalty, no hassle.
Let's get those tapes off the shelf.
Pick a day, tell me what you're bringing. Two minutes from now you'll have a time and place to show up. That's all it takes.
You're all set.
I'll text you at the number you provided to confirm the details before your drop-off day. If anything changes, just text me back.
See you soon!
